Are you living the life you want?

Psychotherapy is a powerful way to discover the thoughts, feelings and actions that prevent you from experiencing more fulfilling relationships with yourself, your work, and other people.

Our goal in therapy is to develop an understanding of the challenges and obstacles that currently exist for you, as well as providing you tools that support life long balance, insight and behavioral change. Rather than blaming and remaining mired in the past, you and I collaborate on the best path for movement forward.

In a safe and non-judgmental environment you and I engage in work that balances listening with interaction to challenge the inner critical voice that keeps you in the same patterns year after year.

I bring my skills as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to our collaborative and interactive work. Together, we will uncover your innate strengths as well as build a foundation of balance, clarity and self worth for creating the authentic and fulfilling life you want.

    "

  • Many of us grew up with rigidly defined roles whether or not we were conscious of it at the time. How would you describe yours?

    Pleaser?

    Rebel?

    Clown?

    Victim?

    Perfect Child?

    Black Sheep?

    Child –as – Parent?

These are just a few examples of the family roles we can experience as children and young adults. Each of these roles comes with its own particular set of challenges through adulthood that are tempered by your unique perspective and experience.

Do you continue to play out these roles with both their assets and liabilities? Therapy explores both the positive and the negative impact that these roles have on all aspects of our day-to-day lives.

Our work will identify and hone your own specific tools for navigating your personal journey. In our work together, we illuminate your strengths, competencies, knowledge and skills in a safe and confidential environment. Most importantly, I work as a client-centered therapist in an interactive setting who sees his clients as the experts in their lives.

    A Note Regarding Diagnosis:

Humans all carry the basic neurological template, however some individuals are more prone to feelings of anxiety, depression, loneliness, isolation, despair and frustration. This can be due to neurological “wiring” as well as your long-term experience of trauma or engagement in family and interpersonal dynamics. I am happy to work with individuals who are currently using psychiatric medications. If indicated, I can provide referrals to trusted resources for medical evaluation.

    Licensed Clinical Psychologist

    Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

I hold a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Santa Barbara, as well as a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles and have provided psychotherapy services to individuals and groups for over a decade. I am licensed for both degrees in the state of California.

My work includes services to individuals, families and groups for a wide range of issues including life transition, social anxiety and isolation depression, grief, failure-to-launch challenges, and identity development. Additionally, my work includes individuals diagnosed with mood spectrum challenges including bipolar as well as personality disorders. Apart from my academic experience I immersed myself the two year comprehensive training program in Family Therapy at the Southern California Counseling Center, a non-profit organization known for its rigorous training in post-modern modalities. I continued training at the Verdugo Mental Health Clinic in Glendale, California providing services to the chronically mentally ill, including those with psychotic spectrum disorders and the more severe mood disorders.

I have worked as a college counselor at the California State University Channel Islands Health Center in Camarillo, as well as supervising teen peer counselors at the Center for Study of Young People's "TEENLINE", a nationwide confidential and anonymous resource that provides peer professional help with concerns of violence, alcohol, drug and/or sexual abuse, depression, and any other teen risk issues. I completed my doctoral training with Pacific Forensics / Sharper Future Los Angeles & Long Beach providing social habilitation and relapse prevention in the area of sexual offenses.

I have worked as a staff psychologist for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation as well as Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health / Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Prior to my focus in the field of psychotherapy, I worked extensively in many areas of the Los Angeles entertainment scene. As a psychotherapist working with many individuals whose careers are solidly situated in the entertainment industry, I provide perspective and guidance through the challenges inherent in that system.
